Open a Betting Broker Account: What Each Broker Asks For

One form asks for your birth date and phone number; another sets your password only after e-mail confirmation.

Opening a betting broker account means different things at each of the four brokers: at three of them the account you bet from is opened in a second step, and the fourth says its betting account is created at registration.

Some want no document when you register and set a cumulative deposit threshold for ID; one reserves the right to ask at any time, and one may ask when the account is created. The shared path is short: check your country, register, confirm your e-mail where the broker sends one, fund the wallet, request the product account, verify when asked. Product accounts such as PS3838, Probet42, BLACK or Edge sit behind that second request. This guide stops at your first working broker account.

What do I need before I open a betting broker account?

Four things, three of which you can prepare before you touch a form. If the model is new to you, the betting brokers overview comes first, and what a broker actually is explains the split between a wallet and a product account that the rest of this page assumes.

The first is your country. A broker can only open what its own form and terms allow, and the lists do not match from one broker to the next. The second is a payment method held in your own name, because three of the four state that payments must be in your name, and BetInAsia limits you to one profile. The third is two documents, a photo ID and a recent proof of address, scanned clean. The fourth is the form itself, which differs more than you would expect.

BetInAsia's registration help article lists a full name, e-mail, country of residence and account currency (PS3838 accounts are EUR only), and you choose the password after confirming the e-mail. AsianConnect's form has no password field at all: it takes e-mail, full name, date of birth, phone number, country, a euro currency and the book you want, plus a tick box for 18+ and the terms, and then says its Customer Care team will be in touch. MadMarket's help article lists e-mail, password, country, first name and last name, then sends a confirmation e-mail. Sportmarket's form is not described here because it could not be read; its help pages say your betting account is created automatically once you register. All four allow one account per person.

What are the steps from sign-up form to first bet?

Eight moves, in this order. The cards further down show where each broker bends the sequence.

  1. Read the country rule

The form's country list and the terms both count. A country missing from either ends that route before it starts.

  2. Line up a payment method in your name

A card, e-wallet or crypto wallet that is yours. Money from a third party is a common reason a withdrawal stalls.

  3. Get two documents ready

Photo ID, both sides. A utility bill or bank statement under three months old. Some brokers add all four corners visible and no screenshots.

  4. Fill in the form

Real name, real country, one account. A typo in the name is cheap to fix now and slower to fix later.

  5. Confirmation, or a person

Where the broker sends an e-mail, confirm it. Where its team says it will be in touch, wait for that message before sending money.

  6. First deposit

Small, and above the stated minimum. It lands in the wallet, not yet on a book.

  7. Product account

Where one is needed, pick a username (at least 5 characters, without the broker's own name), request the account, transfer from the wallet. Account details by e-mail.

  8. Verify when asked

Clean copies, sent on your own schedule if the trigger is a withdrawal, and before the line if the trigger is a deposit total. Then a small test withdrawal.

Do I need ID at sign-up, or only at the first withdrawal?

The forms that could be read ask for typed details only, never an upload. The check comes later, and its trigger is where the brokers part ways. One kind of trigger is a withdrawal: the moment you ask for money back, documents are required. The other kind is a running deposit total, which fires in the middle of a funded account whether or not you ever asked to withdraw.

A reader depositing 600 EUR a month reaches 1,800 EUR after three months and 2,400 EUR after four, so the fourth deposit is where a 2,000 EUR line bites. The check then arrives while the wallet is full, and at some brokers it holds up further use until the documents are accepted. Send the files before you cross a line you know about, because a check you scheduled is a check you can do calmly.

The total counts what you deposited over time, not what is left in the balance, so withdrawing does not reset it. A broker can also ask for documents because of activity it finds unusual, with no figure involved. The account verification guide holds the full trigger table and the common reasons a document is refused; the cards below keep one line per broker.

Which of the four will ask first?

What does each broker ask for, and where does it go wrong?

Each card carries the stated deposit minimum, the manual step, the ID line and the documents. The weak points are the recurring ones from published reviews and the brokers' own pages, stated as reports and not as a verdict. Fees and rollover are left out on purpose and sit in the broker fee comparison.

BetInAsia

What it states

  • A 50 EUR minimum deposit, and 45 EUR as the smallest transfer to a product account.
  • Verification is required once your deposits pass 2,000 EUR and before any withdrawal. Until then you can register, open product accounts and transfer.
  • For product accounts, BetInAsia says its team e-mails the account details after your transfer.

Weak points

  • Reviews and forum threads describe verification loops: documents requested again and balances held in a compliance review. The safety guide reads those reports broker by broker.
  • Most often, BetInAsia says, a BLACK account reads "Expired" after 60 days without a bet, and support reactivates it.
  • A username containing BetInAsia or BIA is refused. PS3838, which BetInAsia calls a Pinnacle white label, is EUR only, needs two-factor authentication and has no test account.

Documents: a valid photo ID, both sides, and a utility bill or bank statement under three months old showing name and date; PDF, PNG or JPEG (5 MB at most). Screenshots are refused and all four corners must show. BetInAsia says verification can take up to 24 hours. Not ideal for: a reader who needs the account at once, since a person sends the details.

AsianConnect

What it states

  • Minimum deposits of about 10 EUR by Bitcoin, USDT, Skrill or Neteller, and 20 USDC for USDC.
  • The form goes to a person: AsianConnect says its Customer Care team will be in touch after you submit it.
  • The ID line has no figure. AsianConnect says it may ask for ID and proof of address at any time, and its FAQ lists the book behind your account requiring it, large volume or large withdrawals, unusual activity and some e-wallet withdrawals.

Weak points

  • Withdrawals delayed or frozen for months are the main complaint in reviews, which the safety guide above reads in full.
  • The operator says verification is often done within a few minutes. Reviewers describe repeated documents and a stricter check than that.
  • The country field is a drop-down of about 115 countries, the page describes no confirmation e-mail, and the terms let AsianConnect forfeit a balance after 12 months of inactivity.

Documents: an official ID such as a passport, driving licence or identity card, and a recent proof of address such as a utility bill, bank statement or official letter; the terms add that proof of the payment cards used may be requested. Not ideal for: a reader who needs a stated threshold to plan around, since none is published, or who cannot leave funds waiting through a review.

MadMarket

What it states

  • A 50 EUR minimum deposit. Product accounts are in euros, and a transfer from a crypto wallet is converted.
  • The order is deposit, Products, Create account, then transfer. MadMarket says its team confirms the account by e-mail.
  • Its KYC policy applies once lifetime deposits exceed 2,000 EUR, or when you request a withdrawal of any amount. Until then registration, product accounts and transfers work without documents.

Weak points

  • A young operator with no independent review to read, so every promise on its pages is an operator statement.
  • After you submit documents the status reads "Temporarily Approved" (play continues, withdrawals wait) while the KYC team reviews, which MadMarket says takes up to 24 hours. Incomplete KYC blocks further deposits and withdrawals.
  • The country lists in the terms and on the KYC page differ, and both are non-exhaustive. An Edge account can read "Expired" after 60 days without a bet. Probet42, which MadMarket sells as a Pinnacle alternative, is reached through a broker or agent and requires two-factor on every account.

Documents: a photo ID, both sides, valid for at least three more months with four corners visible; a bank statement or utility bill under three months old; the same name everywhere; a selfie with the document if required; PDF, PNG or JPEG up to 5 MB, no screenshots. Not ideal for: a reader who wants an established review record before depositing, or who would hold a large balance through an open review.

Sportmarket

What it states

  • A 10 EUR minimum deposit on every option, in a euro account. Sportmarket says the betting account is created automatically when you register.
  • Its terms say verification is always needed before a withdrawal or once deposits total 3,000 EUR. Its help page says you may be asked when you create the account, when you withdraw or at certain thresholds.
  • For a direct PS3838 account, which Sportmarket describes as powered by Pinnacle, you need at least 100 EUR in your Sportmarket account and must ask support to activate it. The team notifies you when it is ready.

Weak points

  • Evidence of source of funds or wealth can be requested at any time, even after a passed check. A few complaints describe withdrawals held until it arrives; those reports are isolated.
  • Sportmarket says limits on the direct PS3838 account are about 50% lower than at Pinnacle.
  • Crypto deposits only become available once the account is fully verified, and a payment method missing from the dashboard usually points to verification or to your country.
  • The terms exclude the USA, the UK and France, and any jurisdiction that is absent from the registration form.

Documents: a passport, or an ID card or driving licence with both sides (a passport if the ID shows no expiry date); a proof of address under three months old with the same address as the account; a quick identity check such as a selfie, done in the Verification tab. Not ideal for: a reader with no proof of address in their own name, or one who expects a check only at a fixed amount, since the help page allows an early request.

Why is my product account not ready after the transfer?

Because the wallet and the product account are two separate things, and the second one is opened by a person. The wallet is a balance at the broker. A product account is an account at a book such as PS3838 or Edge, and the transfer is what triggers its creation. BetInAsia describes a team that e-mails the details after the transfer, AsianConnect a team that contacts you after the form, and MadMarket a team that confirms the account by e-mail. Sportmarket's direct PS3838 account needs a support request once the 100 EUR is in place.

The brokers publish no delay for this step, so any timing you read elsewhere is a claim, and the wait you see is the wait that counts. Before you write to support, check three things: the transfer went through at or above the stated minimum, the username was accepted, and the currency matches the product. MadMarket's help articles are not consistent on the minimum transfer, so confirm it in the portal before you send. Then write with the transfer reference, and keep the exchange.

An account that is not ready yet is a different state from one that reads "Expired". The second is an account that existed, went quiet and was switched off, and it is fixed by asking support to reactivate it.

Can I use a card or wallet in someone else's name?

Three of the four tie payments to the account holder. AsianConnect says payments must be in the player's name, MadMarket's terms put the account in the client's name, and Sportmarket asks for your full legal name and pays out through the method you deposited with.

You deposit 300 EUR from a card that is not in your name. At withdrawal the money has to travel back the way it came, to a card whose holder is not you, and the name on your ID does not match the name on the payment. The balance sits while the broker asks questions. Use a method in your own name from the first deposit, and treat a joint account or a company card as something to ask the broker about before paying.

If your country is not in the list

Then that broker cannot open the account for you. The form and the terms are the two places to read the rule, and they can disagree, as MadMarket's terms and KYC page do. BetInAsia's current country list could not be read for this page, so read its form and its present terms before you send any money. Sportmarket states it plainly: if your country does not appear in its registration form, it cannot offer you an account. A refusal ends that route, and what remains is a question for your local law. Betting is for adults only, and legality varies by country.

What should I check once the account is open?

Keep the first deposit small, run a small test withdrawal early and file the confirmation e-mails where you can find them. Whether the operators behind these routes hold up over time is a separate question, taken up in what the public record says about brokers, and whether a broker is worth the extra layer puts numbers on the cost side. Opening an account at Pinnacle itself is a different process, covered in the Pinnacle registration guide.
